It was great to get away from the crowds and hike across the Lamar Valley. Most of the time we were following game tracks as Josh led us past bison herds and along the River for lunch. It was a fun day. There were only four of us on the hike, apart from Josh, and all in our 60's (or so I gathered) and the level of difficulty was appropriate for us. In addition to bison we saw pronghorns, sand hill cranes, mergansers, a bald eagle, a hawk, and wolves (in the distance). All of the gear recommended on the website was appropriate for the hike, but one thing Josh mentioned was not on their list - long pants. Since much of the time was spent walking through low scrub on narrow paths it was important to wear long pants to protect us from being scratched by the low branches. I had long pants and was glad of it. As far as Covid is concerned, Josh was careful to maintain separation distance during the hike and wear a mask when speaking to the group. Since we each had our own gear we could personally confirm that it was sanitized.
