We took both the Lone Star Geyser Hike (with Emily Jo Mahan) and the Lamar Valley Hike (with Josh Mahan). Both Josh and Emily Jo were fantastic and knowledgeable guides. We really enjoyed both hikes. The Lone Star Geyser was amazing. We saw fantastic wildlife in the Lamar Valley up close including a brown black bear that almost ran into us on the hiking trail. Highly recommend!!!

We had a 6 hour hike with Josh and the hike was great. Josh is very knowledgeable about everything in Yellowstone and provided great commentary during our hike. Some of our best views in the park were on this hike and Josh led us off the main trail along an “animal trail”. We were amazed that he knew the area like the back of his hand. We had many opportunities to see wildlife and got some great pictures. There are many opportunities to take photos, and we could stop whenever to take photos, rest, etc. A nice lunch was provided and we ate next to a scenic river. I would highly recommend this hike for anyone who would like to explore backwoods Yellowstone with an experienced hiker. My family was a bit worried that we would see wildlife like bears that would be aggressive, but we felt totally at ease and safe on this trip. Definitely give this hike a try!

My guide, Bob, was great. Very knowledgeable and enjoyable to be with. He also had extra gear for me to borrow upon realizing I had forgotten a raincoat. I was content with the trail selection. Beautiful views and well maintained. Although the website describes the route as "our most strenuous hiking option", so I was hoping for a bit more of a challenging and secluded hike than what I found.
