We read about this package on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a go. It was a disappointing experience. The 15 mins wild-west-play before the train leaves Williams station was very difficult to understand due to a bad sound system. Consequently, boring and not funny. On the way to the Grand Canyon we booked dome class seats, which were not very comfortable. The hostess in the carriage managed to speak for almost the whole journey (2 hours 15 mins), treating the passengers as toddlers, with over-explanations and not so funny jokes. It was impossible to relax and enjoy the ride. On the way back we had first class seats which were more comfortable. The male steward in this carriage talked much less, which was a relief. The train robbery play just before return at Williams was fun for our kids. They enjoyed the excitement. On both legs the temperature in the train was too low, leaving us freezing and uncomfortable. At the Grand Canyon we booked a ‘freedom tour’, which was a good way to see the best of the Grand Canyon within a short time. Overall, I regret having booked this tour. In hindsight I wished I had spent the money on a hotel stay at the Grand Canyon, enabling us to spend more quality time at this incredible place.
