Everything that was promised was fulfilled. The pick up vehicle that takes you to the bus pulled up to the door of our hotel and was right on time. At the depot, we were directed to our bus where we lined up to get our provided small snack type breakfast / w juice. Met our operator " Walter Dirden ". He took charge right away, setting the tone for the day. His in-charge manner gave us comfort that the day was gonna stay on track and we were in good hands. We picked this tour GC / Sweet tours because you get the Hoover damn over look, Historic Route 66 stop, and two points (Angel and Mather point) at the South rim of the Grand Canyon and get back to Vegas 2 hours earlier than other tours. 9:30 pm as opposed to 11:30pm. Now when I say your operator (driver) makes all the difference, I mean you don't just ride to your stops looking at you don't know what scenery. Walter explained in detail important scenic land marks and municipalities along the way. His explanations gave the scenery passing by the bus depth with the names and history of interesting points we were passing. Since it was early and most of us needed more coffee. Walter got everyone laughing and really raised the mood right away. He kept us laughing and giving us history, including a lot of Vegas tips for tourists right up til the end of the trip. Now if your tired ( like we were) there is plenty of time during the going and returning legs of the trip to catch a nap. Which I wouldn't have been able to do if I drove. Reclining seats, air conditioning, an on board bathroom, provided lunch (sandwich and chips) and plenty of snack stops made this a no brainer for us. Especially when I figured the cost of gas in the rental car and park fee's. Now an important note / observation. If you have a hard time with English, make sure before you leave the drop off area that you completely understand all directions / instructions given. Your operator will take all the time you need / want to understand instructions. If you don't do what the operator says you will effect everyone's trip. We were all in the group to receive important instructions at the Grand Canyon. Walter explained the itinerary several times both before parking and at the stop. He took extra time and was so patient with those English impaired. But to little avail. We were all late leaving for the return trip. A couple of people obviously left without understanding and were not at the assigned pick up area. Which put us all in wait and look out for mode. But thanks to Walter we knew who to be looking for, because he kept saying get to know your neighbor while we were on the bus. So right away, when you get back on the bus from stops, you know who is not in their seats. This coupled with passenger counts makes sure no one gets left behind. Thanks Walter!! and Sweet tours for Great memories and a Fantastic day!
