Plan on a long day when you take this tour. If you wish to take a small group tour, book early. Those were sold out the day we were going. The bus had huge windows and the seats were okay. Just before stepping onto the bus, my husband and I picked up our boxed Continental breakfast along with a bottle of juice and bottle of water. When we went to sit down, it took a moment to figure out what to do with everything in our hands. We passed food and drink back and forth giving the other one a chance to get settled. There was no shelf or tray or pocket to put anything. There is storage above for bags or backpacks. Eating was a hassle.
We were shown an informative movie about the Grand Canyon. Our first stop was Hoover Dam for about 20 minutes. The second stop was in Kingman, AZ at a truck stop. Third stop was Seligman, AZ for photo op and souvenir shop. These breaks were about 15 minutes each. Lunch boxes, choices of sandwiches or salad were made when booked, were gotten out of the cooler around 10:30 a.m. The sandwich was thick with lunch meat, a thin slice of tomato and lettuce. Condiments were separate. Chips and apple were included.
Before arriving at the Canyon the driver gave clear instructions on where we would meet and some details about the area. We were given three hours to explore the South Rim of the park. The Canyon is awesome.
Supper was another truck stop with a Subway shop.
The driver got us there and back safe and sound. There was a movie shown both ways though many people took a nap. Bottled water was always available. The air conditioning worked well.
