We were told by a friend to visit with our children and grandchildren and that it was her favorite museum to visit in New York. We loved the owner and his personal story of being on site after 9/11. We’re grateful for his wisdom in collecting artifacts and taking photos of the site after so we can remember that very sad day in our history. We loved being able to hold some of the artifacts and our 9 year old granddaughter said it was her favorite and she enjoyed learning about 9/11. Thank you for showing us the love and respect the firefighters had of this scared ground. We are glad we added this special museum to our trip!

This is a wonderful museum that everybody should see to learn about 9/11. There are so many items from the 9/11 site (some that you can actually hold) and many amazing photographs. There is a fascinating story to each and every item and photograph. Gary who was the official photographer at the site is a very talented photographer and is a wealth of knowledge and has so many important stories to tell. I am a first responder at 9/11 and the whole experience at the museum and workshop brings the story of 9/11 to life. I went with my wife and we are going to tell all our friends to see the museum and meet Gary.

Having been twice now, I cannot recommend this museum workshop enough. This small (but highly informative) museum is filled with all sorts of artefacts and photographs that tell the tragic story of 9/11 - some of which you are allowed to touch. Our visit was lead by the photographer himself (Gary), who was appointed as the official ground zero photographer in the aftermath of the attack. After watching a short video, we were given audio headsets and were able to wonder around the workshop at our own pace. We were there for about 2 hours, but could easily have spent longer. Having been to the official 9/11 memorial museum at ground zero as well, I would definitely recommend this one. This workshop does a great job at offering a slightly difference perspective on the memorialisation of 9/11 through the photographer’s lens. It focuses predominantly on the first responders who were responsible for the clean up operation, and tells the personal stories of those involved. The museum is both thoughtful and tasteful, and not something to be missed.
