Ground Zero Museum Workshop
The Ground Zero Museum Workshop in the Meat-Packing District on West 14th Street features stunning images, rare video and remnants from the Ground Zero Recovery Period, all packed into an intimate and emotional space. On display are 100 of Gary Marlon Suson's most well-known images, including the charred Genesis 11: Tower of Babylon Bible Page found in the WTC rubble, the Frozen Clock stuck at 10:02am, marking the collapse of the South Tower and several FDNY Honor Guard images. The actual clock itself is also on display in the museum. The only all-access, sanctioned photographer at Ground Zero, Suson's one-of-a-kind, 3-D photo installations place viewers into the "hole" at Ground Zero. Visitors are also allowed the rare opportunity to pick up and hold World Trade Center steel and window glass. Tours are limited to just 25 people, and include a powerful 15-minute video. The Ground Zero Museum is about 5-minutes from Ground Zero via the "E" train. Daily tours last about 90 minutes and include the intimate stories behind 100 images and remnants. This is a "don't-miss" museum that touches the heart of young and old alike. No graphic or morbid images are displayed and the museum is known for its sensitivity to a very tough subject matter. Suitable for children.

Shameful money grab. Turning tragedy into profit. Don't waste your money supporting people like this. Spend it in a local market or for the homeless

If you're going to learn about 9/11 in a personal, intimate and unique way then you need to go to Gary's museum. I actually preferred it to the main museum as it was like walking into Gary's memories and being there with him in his photos and experiences of that time. It does not have the commercial cash-in feeling that the main museum has and is a intimate walk through of personal stories, unusual facts and artifacts that you would not see in the main museum. He'll even let you handle some of them. Yes it's a small place but you could spend HOURS here just listening and taking in everything you are seeing. The compact nature of it almost makes it. You are getting an extremely intimate experience of 9/11 through the eyes of someone who lived, breathed and captured it. Gary has put his heart and soul into this museum and it is worth every penny you spend to experience it. We would definitely go back to Gary's museum rather than the commercially driven main museum. Thank you Gary for sharing your experiences, beautiful photos and artifacts with us. We will never ever forget it.

This powerful, emotional museum was the number 1 highlight of our trip to NYC. The 9/11 museum and memorial charts the events on the day, but this exceptional collection represents the scale of the recovery operation and the impact on the people involved. The beautiful, haunting images and exclusive collection of artifacts speak a thousand words, as the raw emotion of the recovery process is captured by the only photographer with access to the Ground Zero site. The love, care and dedication shown by the individuals involved in this horrific task is evident in these photographs and the exhibition stands as a testament to all those involved. Without doubt, this is a place you have to visit whilst in NYC. I will carry this experience with me and I am so glad we chose to see it.
