Kids had a blast! Check in was quick and easy. Our group had their water safety and instructions which was brief but helpful. Got into the water right away and began surfing. Kids aged 8-18 all were able to surf very quickly. Had tons of opportunities to surf over and over. Instructor was great. Kids had fun. Only complaint is that this was advertised as 2 hours but came in from water with 30 minutes left in the 2 hour period. Probably to sell us photos. Line to view photos was long and we waited for a bit but decided it was going to take too long for our turn. Great experience but wish it was the full 2 hours as advertised. Also FYI there are a TON of other surfers in the water with you.

My boys (12, 16) were both able to stand and ride a few waves within the first hour. The staff at the Surf Shack were very helpful and encouraging to everyone in the class (they had a total of 5 people in the group, so everyone was well taken care of). Waves were intermittent. Lots of other surf schools using same area. Became a little congested.

Our instructor Jay was great. He showed us how to get up and get off the board while still on land before taking us into the water. He really helped us all with tips and had us all surfing by the end! He was very funny and great to have as an instructor!
