Booking the tour they say it takes 4 hours. Stop here!! They mean 2,5 hours in the buss and 1.5 hour in the church... ARC is a lovely band, and for sure I wanted to hear more from them. The guide was engaging a specially his German visitors (he spoke good German although) but the rest of the bus could loose him some times. That the native born in Harlem guide talks about his own life and growing up in Harlem is his history is in a way charming. But when he becomes political I think I booked the wrong bustour. Calling the bankers ¨criminals¨ for what happened around 2008, that there is a racist now in the White House... and more idications of his own were for a part offending and definitely not in place. We took this trip 4th of April Scores: +5 for singing.. should have been much longer -3 for guide +3 for tour and showing Harlem -3 for the price of the event

Dear DirkkBaker, I hope this email finds you well. Thank you for sharing the details of your experience on our tour. We are surprised and disappointed to learn that our tour guide included additional content to our Harlem Gospel tour. Please accept our sincerest apologies, we are truly sorry that you were made to feel uncomfortable. Our tour guide explained to us that the German-speaking members of the group asked some personal questions to which he candidly responded and then translated on impulse for the rest of the group. Our tour guides are native New Yorkers and although we encourage them to interact with guests and bring their own personalities and experiences as examples of life in New York City to the tour; this is certainly not what we had in mind. We appreciate your bringing this issue to light as it helps us to improve the overall customer experience. We are truly sorry that this experience did not meet your expectations. I kindly ask that you contact me directly because we would like the opportunity to make it up to you. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerest regards, Erika Elisabeth Vice President Harlem Spirituals /New York Visions 1212391 0900 [email protected]

Tour guide was great. But we were there on the Wednesday after new year and I don’t think they had the whole singing group there. They didn’t do what the guide said they were going to do at the end. It al ended rather suddenly. A bit disappointing.

Interesting tour. Enjoyable but being translated so many times was annoying. Otherwise the tour guide was very helpful.
