It was awesome. I sang with the choir.
It changed my view of Harlem.
A must do when in New York.
Our tour guide Mahalia was very informative and very passionate about the history of the area it was impressive. Well what can I about the Gospel tour it was just like being in the movie Sister Act. The Pastor a little 89 year old man giving thanks to the Lord hat they have their church.Which started out as an addiction reform center but they need to pay the mortgage of the church so they started their choir. It gave us Goose bumps then we were invited up with the choir in front of the congregation to join in with the Song OH Happy Days. WOW it was so uplifting and inspiring.
Then we went to Sylvia's Soul Food for lunch and again what can I say. Sitting in a quaint restaurant with a gallery of pictures of famous people thanking Sylvia for her fine food . The likes of Sidney Poitier, Obama, the temptations and Bill Clinton among many more. We ate corn bread, cat fish, southern fried chicken, collard greens and so much more.YUM . Definitely recommend this tour
We LOVED the tour - especially the service at the end
