Your guide will orient you to the area of East Cemetery Hill which is the location of heavy fighting during the Battle of Gettysburg before you enter the National Soldiers Orphanage Homestead. This building was used as the headquarters for General O.O. Howard during the battle and was also use as a hospital during and after the battle. After the end of the Civil War the building was turned into an orphanage for children whose fathers were lost during the American Civil War. That is where our story begins...

We had Mike (the undertaker). It was a group of adults so his jokes were hilarious we all enjoyed it. He took us to the cellar and we understood why he had us laugh before hand because it was very depressing. He is an amazing tour guide and I would definitely recommend him!

This is our second time doing this tour. Group was a lot smaller last time than this time so we got more activity. However we got Mike the undertaker for this tour. He definitely plays the role very well. First tour was we did in December was more historical based where as Mike put more of an acting performance on it. He was great. Next time though I am going to do a lock in so we have a smaller group and more time to actually investigate.

We had a great tour of the orphanage. Our tour guide Mike was really good and deserves the title greatest tour guide of the year. He was informative and definitely scary.
