Previous reviews of this tour are accurate. We were picked up on time. We had a small group of 7 people plus the driver/tour guide Dave C. The van was very comfortable. Dave was an excellent tour guide. He was very informative and took good care of the group. The length of time at the stops was adequate. The lunch stop at the bakery was awesome. Dave came fully prepared with beverages and snacks and set the table for us. The sandwiches from the bakery/deli were very fresh and tasty. Lots of stops to see lava fields, steam vents, black sand beach and of course the volcano. Unfortunately no eruptions when we were there. Dave made sure to take group and individual pictures. The dinner was very good. The atmosphere was great and the meal very good. It gave us a chance to get to know each other better. All in all, it was a great day. It is a long day (almost 12 hours from pickup to drop off) so be prepared. Highly recommend.

Was a long but VERY fun and educational day. Our guide Dave was excellent, extremely knowledgeable, engaging and full of enthusiasm throughout the long day. Even though we did not get to see the volcano erupting it was absolutely wonderful, even the weather cooperated.

My wife and I went on the Small Group Volcano Experience with Lunch and Restaurant Dinner on 13 January 2025. Right from the moment we got onto the comfortable Mercedes Van, the experience was wonderful. Our tour guide was Kawika. He kept us enthralled with his amazing knowledge of the area, the history of people & events that shaped Hawaii, personal anecdotes of his growing up years that were amusing and fascinating, and looked after us really well. The visit to Kilauae Volcano is an unforgettable experience and will remain with us for ever. Kailani Tours - you are the best.
