Gold, Gold, Gold! Alaska is known for oil and gold. Our guides are familiar with gold panning and the man who first discovered gold in July 1902, starting the Fairbanks Gold Rush. This monument is one of many treasures we are happy to share whenever possible with guests. Please remember we go where the clear skies are and not all guests have the same locations to visit. If you want to learn about Alaskan History, ask our wonderful guides who are happy to share both personal and historical facts and stories.

These guys know what they're doing! We only had one night in Fairbanks (not something I recommend) but if you're down to a single night, definitely use these guys! They do their best to identify the best area and drive you further out from town. This allows you to be out of the light pollution of the city and we got some AMAZING views of the Aurora. They also helped you with your camera and were familiar with most camera types; very helpful. They also set up a nice beverage station and campfire where we had some Reindeer sausage. What a really great experience; worth every penny! Can't wait to get our portraits from that night!

We booked our tour last minute (about 30 hours in advance of tour departure). We did not receive email confirmation from the tour guides until we called Viator Customer Service. The rep from Viator reached back out to Aurora in Alaska and then stayed on the phone until we received the confirmation email. The event team had told Viator that the email had been sent, but we did not receive it. This could have been a simple email error. Austin reached out to us about 10 minutes prior to our departure time to inform us that he was on the way. The van was packed full of people, even the passenger seat of the van, as we started our journey about an hour and 15 minutes North of Fairbanks. The van was nice as it was new, but with all of the people and our jackets, it became very warm quickly. It was also odd to be so jammed full with COVID ongoing, but nearly everyone wore a mask so that was not a problem. We arrived to a spot that Austin had recommended and we stayed here for about an hour while we waited for the sun to go down. The sun went down around midnight in early September and then the sky was filled with clouds. Soon enough, about 30 more minutes of waiting and the sky erupted with Aurora. This was a very cool and unique experience. Austin provided coffee, tea, and napkins for the first half of the tour. To break the night up while the Aurora was out, he made a little fire and offered Reindeer sausages to everyone who wanted one. This was nice as we were able to cook it ourselves, but again with COVID ongoing I did not eat much of it. Overall it was a nice experience, Austin was responsive, and we saw the Aurora. I would recommend this tour.

The local expert guide took us to all possible auroras sighting points, chased the cloudless spots and we had an incredible aurorad sighting when according to the forecast the probability was going to be very low. Fully recommended. Also the guide offered explanations and super interesting information about the places visited.
