The fellows doing the organization, administration, and setting up of the bikes should have been on the Looney Tunes. It was the classic business case of having two businesses, one renting and one tours, and they mixed the two and chaos resulted. We were there 15 minutes before "start" at 3.15 according to the tour description. That was 2.55 pm, and sometime around 2.35 we left...and then they had the gall to ask if we had something else planned that day. the tour guide was OK, but not much better than that. They have the idea that tips are something they get automatically instead of actually earning them. A LOT more effort is required here.
Great time. Wonderful way to learn about the Park. Would do it again.
The bike trip around Central Park is worth doing. The bikes were in great condition and there was plenty of help getting everyone matched up with a bike. I would say that our guide was a bit rough around the edges. He didn't really seem all that interested in providing information about the park, although he was happy to talk about himself and his life.
All in all, I think I could have just rented a bike, got a map, and done this on my own.
