Even though it rained It was an enjoyable evening. The food was good and dances of the various islands was interesting. The drinks and the desserts were so so.

Definitely spend the extra money for the VIP seating. There was no line to get in with the VIP seating, the general seating line was very long, and it was nice to be the first at the buffet not to mention being close to the stage. The food was very good and there was plenty to choose from. There was no waiting in line for drinks, very well organized. It was a beautiful evening to see a show out doors and the show itself was outstanding. I would totally recommend this luau to anyone staying in the Kona area.

Despite visiting the Big Island several times, we've never been to a luau on this island. This visit we went to Island Breeze Luau at the Courtyard by Marriott. They don't offer transportation but there is plenty of on-site paid parking. Have the luau staff validate your ticket and the fee is reduced to $5. The luau is outdoors without any cover. We had some sprinkles but nothing soaking. There are two levels of tickets, it being more expensive to sit near the raised stage. Don't know what other perks they receive. . The brochure shows the performers arriving to the venue by boat, but that didn't happen. Instead they walked between the tables to the stage. This was disappointing because any pictures included guests. You can't get a clean shot. The buffet had typical luau choices, but nothing was hot by the time you got back to your table. They had a small kiki (children) buffet with mac & cheese, fries, etc. The desert was great! The admission price includes an open bar. The entertainers were absolutely excellent! Well worth the price.

Some times if the waves are rough it is too dangerous, we are not able to send the cast out on the ocean. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you again on your next trip!
