Joshua Tree National Park
Our shuttle van will take you to the city of Joshua Tree where we trade for our H-1 Military Hummer to complete your adventure. We climb to the top of a breathtaking overlook called Eureka Peak that will give you a stunning view of the valley below and a view that stretches all the way to Mexico.

Big Morongo Canyon Preserve
Nestled among the Little San Bernardino Mountains in the Sand to Snow National Monument, the desert oasis at Big Morongo Canyon is one of the 10 largest cottonwood and willow riparian habitats in California. The upstream end of the canyon lies in the Mojave Desert, while its downstream portion opens into the Colorado Desert. There are numerous trails to walk and hike, including a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk through the marsh and riparian habitats. At 31,000 acres with elevations ranging from 600 feet on the canyon floor to 3000 feet at the top of the ridge, this diverse landscape has been an important part of the Morongo Basin’s natural and cultural history for almost two billion years.

I have read all of the reviews, but our experience was incredible. Josh was our tour guide. He was personable, friendly, and drove safely. The tour runs from 8 am (pick up to probably 1or 130 pm or so). The trip in the Hummer was fun, but chilly. Thank goodness for the blankets. The website should remind you to bring a jacket/sweater. We enjoyed going to the Palm Tree Oasis.

We were told this is a must do but hear us out if you happen to be in the same situation as us. We stayed in a hotel in Twenty Nine Palms so we can have easy access to the park. However, the tour starts in Palm Desert which is an hour drive from the actual park entrance, then the van takes you to the oasis, and then to the park entrance an hour back, then you go on a very bumpy road in a hummer which is fun and have a sweeping view but not as good of a view if you would just get to the view point on your own in the park itself on the paved road. Then you drive in a van another hour back to Palm Desert and then we had to drive the same hour back to our hotel. The alternative is to just go to the park yourself on the paved road if you just want the view. However, if the open top, cold wind in your face, and bumpy road experience is your thing then this is a must do but stay in the hotel close to Ralphs in Palm Desert. Tour Operator Tip: offer an alternative to join the tour just for the Hummer and skip the hour to and back to Ralphs.

I would give it one star but the tour guide Patrick was very good. We were in an army style hummer with long bench seats in the back. I felt like a soldier being carted off to the war front. Very uncomfortable and not what we were expecting. The brochures all showed a normal hummer with regular seats. My legs have bruises and the opportunity to take pictures were few because we were holding on to the seats or to the blankets that were keeping us from freezing.
