Explore a remote national park less than an hour's drive from the lush resorts of greater Palm Springs. Wonder at the otherworldly plants and rock formations in a unique, and wild desert setting. THIS IS A RUGGED, 4x4 ONLY TRAIL. For those wanting a smoother experience and to see more of the park highlights please consider our Joshua Tree Driving/Van Tour. We don't recommend it for anyone with any back injuries, with any neck injuries, anyone that is pregnant or gets car sick easily. Age limit is 6 years old. This is group tour.
This activity has a 2 person requirement for the tour to run. If you are a single rider, please call first.
NOTICE: EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2025 ALL JOSHUA TREE TOURS WILL REQUIRE GUESTS TO PAY THEIR OWN $15 ENTRY FEE UPON ENTERING THE PARK. ENTRY FEES WILL NO LONGER BE INCLUDED IN THE BIG WHEEL TOURS PRICING. PLEASE COME PREPARED WITH A FORM OF PAYMENT (CREDIT CARD) TO ACCOMMODATE THIS NEW POLICY. THANK YOU!

Steve expertly drove us through canyons to Joshua Tree NP while providing loads of information about the plants, geology, water sources, indigenous culture, and local heroines (Minerva Hoyt and Dr. June McCarroll). We visited sites in Joshua Tree NP before returning to Palm Desert. A great introduction to the area, giving us ideas of places to explore on our own. In fact, we spent the afternoon at the oasis at Coachella Valley Preserve after Steve pointed it out to us on our drive.

Wife and I spent an enjoyable afternoon on a tour of Joshua Tree National Park in the capable hands of Captain Ron. Ron is an accomplished hiker, naturalist, raconteur, and -- importantly in this context -- highly skilled off-road Jeep driver. Ron and his trusty Jeep took us places in the park which are just not accessible from the paved roads. We took the afternoon tour, which meant that wildlife viewing was a little scarce (animals take siestas in the afternoon heat), but also meant we saw the myriad colors of the desert as the sun began to set. Ron is a transplanted Hawaiian who still has plenty of the "aloha" spirit of friendliness. Rock formations in the park really do look like creatures from another world. Highly recommended.

Thank you! Not all deserts are the same and we are very lucky to live right where the Sonoran and Mojave deserts come together so we can visit them both!

So I'm a Jeep person, used to a rough ride, this was absolutely fantastic. Ron our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable of the land and the history. The ride was awesome ! I highly suggest it. If you like a good crawl to go with a good time ? Do it! No regrets.
