Scorton Creek

The Cape Cod Explorer tour operates exclusively in the Game Creek Conservation land. It is a beautiful tidal flat called Scorton Creek that is fed from Cape Cod Bay and is part of the Great Marsh eco-system. There is a amazing amount of bird activity, wildlife, and overall nature to view throughout our tour. This area consists of salt water, brackish water, and fresh water so the variation of plant and wildlife is astounding!

This past weekend my wife and I had a great kayak tour of the Great marsh in Sandwich. Like our tour guide was fantastic. It was a bit windy and the tide was coming in so we weren't able to get to the nice beaches at the end of the marsh but what we were able to do and see was nice. Everyone we spoke to were great to deal with.

My wife and I went in early May, 2023. We decided to go on the Marsh tour in Sandwich, MA at the Old Sandwich Game Farm Wildlife Management Area. Mike loaded up the kayaks and we followed him there. It was low tide when we went in so he recommended that our best option was to go towards the bay. We did go inland briefly, but there were too many sandbars and we kept getting stuck. We made it to the jetty and got out for a few minutes. On our way back we could feel a small assist from the current but the Cape Cod Wind worked against us. It was tough going but we made it back no problem. The water had already risen almost 2 feet from the time we had gone out in about 2 hours. All together, it took about 2 1/2 hours. Highly recommend this outfit - excellent service and friendly knowledgeable guide.

Mike was a great guide that was very knowledgeable of the area and wildlife. He took the time to answer any questions we had. Was a great time and would do it again when back in the area.
