What a day! The boat and crew were fantastic and really showed us a great time. Thank you Steve Martin! We saw dolphins, orcas, many birds, Otters, seals, incredible glaciers calving, and just beautiful coast line. The ship is great, clean, and comfortable!

When I told my boyfriend we would be spending 6 hours on a boat, I think he made a little "what?" face at me. But it was the quickest 6 hours ever with all the scenery and things to look at/look for. We booked one of the last daily 6-hour tour on Labor Day Monday that started at 8am. I took the option where I paid full price (instead of 10% off) and got the vouchers to SeaLife Center (which was still cheaper than taking 10% off and pay full price for the center). We used the voucher day before boat tour. Day of tour we arrived at shuttle bus parking lot at 7:15am. We arrived at the dock plenty early. We had a record nice weather day - not too cold, light wind, perfect blue sky. It was so nice, the Captain had to point out where it normally gets really rocky and bumpy due to waves, but we barely experienced anything. Boat left dock on time and was roomy enough for all the people. It only got a little crowed at times in the front of the boat. We had inside seats but I spent most of the time outside looking at things and taking pictures. The view and weather were just too nice. The boat got mighty close to the rock formation. We did stay a little distance from the glaciers. At first I was a little disappointed about lack of sealife - but I know it's a draw of the luck. But at the end we saw one grey whale, a pod of orcas, two sea otters, flying puffins, sea lions as well as a bunch of jellyfish. The captain narration was hard to hear at times because some speakers weren't working. Lunch was simple, just a sandwich wrap with chips but good enough to fill the belly. We also enjoyed the hot cookie. We ended back at dock on time - and frankly we thought 6 hours were perfect. This is a definite-to-do in Seward, after all why bother to come to a sea town. This is an easy tour for all ages. Personally I may want to try something more active next time - I heard someone talking about her amazing time sea kayaking and saw things much closer in a kayak. Tip #1 - bring water. They serve food but no complimentary water (that I know of) Tip #2 - bring binoculars or you can pay to rent them. 10x42 was what we had and it really helped with seeing things from afar. (I also have a zoom lens from my camera to use)

Our vessels was very far from the calving glacier, probably 500ft away. We saw other vessels standing very close to the glacier. We did the 6 hours 11:30 tour on 1st September. For Wildlife also, we saw only 3 whales and only their humps. Many gulls and few puffins. Some Sea-lions as well. We like their served food and the choice of vegetarian options as well. The cookie the served at the end was even more amazing.
