Raining the am we went out (9/1). Staff said seas were rough and we could reschedule if wanted. This was our only day and they said that if the majority wanted to go we would go. So we went. The seas at first were calm, but we did hit some big swells about 40 minutes in. I'm not sure what people were thinking, but obviously they had either never been at sea, never heard about the sea, or overestimated their own abilities. There were approximately 10 people getting sick over the side rails and every millennial complaining loudly " I can't believe they brought us out here in this." Really?? They told you at check in that it would be rough. Did they think the cruise people were making it up? Needless to say the captain decided to turn back (I'm certain it was due to the whining, we've seen much worse swells on a fishing boat out of the OBX). Instead of heading straight back though, the captain kept us cruising slowly by Fox Island for about 2 hours!! This was completely unnecessary. There was nothing to see and everyone was bored ( my husband took a $150 nap). The highlight was one sea otter floating by. The captain tried his best to be entertaining and the crew made cookies for all, but everyone was just over it. We were back in by noon and promised a partial refund. I did receive a $99 credit today. I paid $332.48. I assumed half would be refunded but it's only about 1/3.

The trip was excellent. We saw a number of animals (of course there are no guarantees). The crew was friendly and informative. The large picture windows were nice for those that didn't want to go outside. We did both Resurrection Bay and the National Park Tour.

We were offered opportunity to cancel trip with full refund due to “possible weather” but due to limited time and no other day we decided to try our luck. My advise is if they are offering chance for refund - take it! They know they can’t sail. We spent hour and half following coast and only wildlife we saw were three puffins in the water. When we reached open waters to go nto fjord and do real wildlife viewing water so choppy we had to turn back. Instead of going back to shore we followed the cliffs for three more hours (In order to avoid full refund) and all we saw was a white speck on the mountain that turned out to be a goat. Almost everyone was on their phones bored and wanting to get back to shore. My complaint is the Company knew impassible and had already cut short several excursions that day before our trip departed. If we had known that we would have taken refund and found something else to do.
