Key West Ghost and Mysteries Tour
Check-in for the ghost tour is no later than 8:45 at the corner of Duval and Caroline Street in front of the Porter Mansion on the Duval Street side. There is a small booth just at the entrance to the property, at the beginning of the 300 block of Duval Street, and that is where you will do your check-in. At 9pm the guide will depart and walk you down Rose Lane for an introduction to the tour which includes some Key West history, terminology used when talking about different spirit sightings, instructions on how to take pictures, and general guidelines. Key West is Florida's second oldest city and one of the most haunted locations in the country. From Rose Lane you will walk to the end of the block stopping at the Casa Antigua, Ernest Hemingway's first Key West residence where he fell in love with Key West and wrote "A Farewell to Arms". You will hear what happened in this interesting building and the ghostly story about The Watcher. The tour then moves up to Eaton Street to the Artist House where you will hear the story of the creepy, Robert the Doll and see where he used to live. Next the tour moves to Bahama Street where the oldest graveyard is located in back of Saint Paul's Church. You are invited to use the dowsing rods at this point to try to engage spirit activity. Just past the graveyard is the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home. This stop is where the strange tale of Count Von Cosel and Elana is related. This story is stranger than fiction, but it's all true and documented. You now will wind back around to the La Concha Hotel and hear what happened at the tallest building in Key West. It's a ghostly tale, but not what you probably think. Next the tour moves to the Oldest House and Gardens to explore the grounds at the back of the house, and hear stories about the family who lived here and learn about the many ghostly sightings. This is the most active location on the tour and many guests get pictures on their cameras. Finally, the tour moves inside to hear the chilling tale of a prominent Key West family at their former residence. As the tour concludes, there is time for stories and picture sharing. The tour is interactive and questions are encouraged. The tour ends at 10:30 across the street from where it started.

My wife and I took the Key West Ghost and Mysteries Tour on our vacation this August, 2016. I am a non-believer to say the least when it comes to matters of paranormal activity, however, my wife is a true believer that there are spirits, energy, whatever living around us. I agreed to be a good husband and "play ball" with regard to this tour. I will give credit to Ted in this regard. He is certainly passionate about what he does for a living. Ted, the leader of our tours storytelling was pretty interesting and genuine. I suppose that while I certainly was not expecting to see ghosts swirling around us I feel that there could be more done to create a better experience. A better presentation is all I'm saying. We were shown numerous photos along our route and were told "the orbs you see in the photos are spirits". Um, ok, I guess I'll buy that?? Wait, no I won't. My opinion is this. If you're looking to do something at night other than simply walking around Duval Street drinking and looking at crafts this is not the worst choice. Compared to $15 cocktails at the resort pool bar this isn't the BIGGEST waste of money that you will spend in Key West. This tour was nearly $20 cheaper than the other tour as well. Oh yea, all of the negative reviews on Ted are pretty accurate. Although I understand that running a ghost tour at 9:30 at night with intoxicated folks isn't the easiest thing in the world to do at times he did get a bit "sassy" with a few of the guests. Ultimately, my advice would be to listen to his stories and enjoy them for what they are and stay respectful of Ted because his attitude can be scarier than the ghosts.

Thank you for joining us on the Key West Ghost & Mysteries tour. We do try to incorporate the fascinating history of the island along with our ghost hunting, it's an interesting combination which keeps each evening's stroll unique. Thanks for being 'the good husband' and coming along, I hope your wife enjoyed the ghost hunting aspect (and let you go fishing the following day!) Key West has a bit to offer anyone along the way, I hope you had a good visit!

Great Great Great time at the old house in key west, talking about how things were, murders that happened and how it happened exactly thanks to Susan for everything , Thrill seeking and exciting !
