The canyon itself was breathtaking, but our experience with the tour guide, Brandon, was deeply disappointing. From the start, two of our friends had to return to the car to leave their bags since they weren’t allowed. Instead of showing any patience, Brandon left us behind, saying, “You should be ready.” It felt dismissive and unkind.
Later, we made an honest mistake by forgetting the rule about taking photos on the stairs and accidentally stepping on rocks. Rather than calmly reminding us, Brandon chose to yell at us twice. He even went as far as comparing us to daycare children, which was insulting and unprofessional. To make matters worse, he assumed we didn’t speak English and implied we were having our own tour. His biased attitude made us feel unwelcome and excluded from the group.
We acknowledge our lapses, but no one deserves to be yelled at or labeled like that. Additionally, we had a friend with a disability, and I informed Brandon in advance that we would be slow on the stairs. Despite this, he showed no understanding or consideration. A little patience and kindness would have made a world of difference.
While the beauty of Antelope Canyon is undeniable, the poor treatment we received left a lasting negative impression. Our experience with Brandon was unacceptable, and we sincerely hope the tour company addresses this kind of behavior.
However, booking with Viator was a very good experience. They have been so responsive and friendly. I totally recommend Viator!!!
