We had the pleasure of having Karen as our guide on this fantastic walking tour. We booked the tour to find out more about the Hamilton/ Burr dynamic as we are Hamilton musical fans but we got so much more than we expected. Karen has an encyclopaedic knowledge on the time and historic locations within NY and we learned loads. We were lucky with the weather and the time totally flew by on the tour. We will definitely do another tour with Karen when we are next in NY. We also bought Karen’s book on Theodosia Burr which I’ve just finished- really enjoyed the book too. Thank you Karen for the great tour.

Karen Q is passionate about history and her stories of both the personal and political lives of Hamilton and Burr were fascinating. She shared quite a few writings published during their lives, including a funny and (for the time) slightly bawdy poem about Burr’s romancing of his future wife, as well as paintings of significant people and places. Karen helps you to imagine the city as it was at the birth of our nation. I highly recommend this tour.

I have studied the colonial era for decades, but always enjoy interacting with scholars of every kind with their ideas, learning, and passion for the period. Mrs Q (Karen) gave me perspectives, details, and background that enhanced what I knew and enabled my research to advance. Walking in the paths of our Founders (emotionally and physically) is transformative.
