We booked our Luau for our last night in Kauai and to say we were looking forward to it would have been an understatement. Unfortunately, we were all left quite disappointed and would skip this if we return. We booked with the round-trip transport thinking we'd get the best experience as we were staying about 45 minutes away, and wanted to enjoy the included drinks for our ticket price. We arrived just as the train was about to leave, and while there was some traffic - it didn't seem to be any more than what we'd experienced every other day we'd been driving in the area. Since we'd paid for the train ride with our ticket purchase, we were pulled out of the long check-in line to hop on it before it left, and skipped signing into the venue. We didn't even have an opportunity to use the washrooms before getting on the train (and after almost an hour long drive, we'd have liked to do that). Skipping the initial check in for our seats meant that we didn't receive one of the beautiful floral leis all the other women were wearing (which was truly one thing we'd been excited about), and we missed our opportunity to take a group photo as well browse the craft fair. We also missed over an hour of the open bar we'd paid for. By the time we'd gone back to the front to check in and were seated, almost all of the tables had already gone up to eat. Everyone at our table was finishing their meals. We didn't have a chance to touch our salad before we were being told to go get food, and we felt so rushed, we barely had a chance to get a drink before getting our dinner. When a few of us decided to go get seconds, the buffet was already being put away. We didn't have enough time to have more than a few drinks - and for anyone looking to book, I'd skip the train ride unless you have young children. The show itself was interesting and entertaining, but the rest of the evening was rushed and not worth what we'd paid. Unfortunately it was the one low-point of an otherwise wonderful vacation in Kauai.
