Hats off to the tour guide! As an anthropology major and graduate of LSU, it was nice to see a young person (matriculating in History), who was so well versed in both the direct account of the residence and also the period history. As we all know, the folks in that period were burdened with the slavery issue. Along with the accomplishments of the Todd-Lincoln family, she never steered away from the ills regarding slavery that the family committed. I appreciate the whole-hearted lesson provided. Nothing was "white-washed" and it was truly informative tour. Sadly though, there was a woman suffering with ALS that day and she was not able to take the tour but between myself and her husband Robert, we were able to (via photos) at least allow her to enjoy the experience. Hopefully as a society, we will continue to make museums inclusive and allow those in wheel-chairs to enjoy the experience. I wish I could fund it myself, but sadly that is not an option. Pass a bill to fund it and I will be the first to give my nickel in taxes.
