This was a really interesting tour. You start to realize the difficult situation Mary Todd was in with her whole family so split over slavery. She suffered so much heartache with losing her loved ones. I really felt for her. I was excited to be in a home where Lincoln once was. It was all so historical and very special. I highly recommend this tour.

Interesting that Lincoln came from a humble upbringing and his wife came from a well-to-do background. Her family house is so well preserved - new wallpaper etc., so it looked fresh, clean and new. Many artifacts. Our guide was terrific and quite knowledgeable. Lots of kids in her family!!

Very interesting place with a mixture of preservation and history. You will get a different look into Mary Todd Lincoln than is often portrayed in the media. Despite most accounts of "history, Mary Todd was not a "back-woods" hick from Kentucky but was a highly educated and out-spoken woman, which was unusal for the time period. She was politically savy and friends with the great stateman Henry Clay. Take the tour and hear of the historical family and life of Mary Todd, an affluent aristorat from Lexington who is one of the best-known first ladies in our country.
