A lifetime experience. The glacier views in winter are legendary. Highly recommend. It can be quite cold in some parts of the hiking trip. Consider using hand and toe warmers to increase the comfortable level.

Thank you for the awesome review of our Matanuska Glacier Winter Tour! Good advice on the hand warmers, we want you to be as warm and comfortable while exploring Alaska's largest glacier accessible by road! During the winter months (November - March) you'll want to wear plenty of cold-weather gear. We recommend: synthetic or wool long underwear, snow boots, warm socks, winter coat, neck gaiter or scarf, and hat and gloves. Thanks again and we hope to adventure with you should you return to Alaska!

I didn't think glacier hiking was on my bucket list until I went on this adventure. Highly recommend since this glacier if very accessible by road. It was cold (-2 degrees F) but with the hiking, the body does warm up... eventually. There was a small crevasse that I was not about to squeeze through so that was the one thing I didn't do on the tour. Otherwise, just to see up close and personal the different shapes and patterns of ice was incredible. A little pricey but it does come with transport and lunch.
