They cancelled the tour the day before! No reason either. Of course all other companies were booked! Then took a while to refund money. Save yourself the hassle of a tour company bailing at the last minute- and save money!!- take the bus to pier 39 and then take the ferry over to Sausalito yourself and use the shuttle bus to Muir from there. Ferry is like $14 and shuttle is $4-5. Then you aren’t on a schedule either! You have to book a shuttle in advance but this way is waaaaay cheaper and they won’t cancel on you!

We apologize for cancelling this tour so close to the tour date. A guide suspected they had contracted COVID (turns out they were negative). Did you get your refund? For those who want to follow your advice about going to Muir Woods on your own, be sure to purchase a parking reservation if you are driving your own vehicle to the park. If you take the ferry to Sausalito, you will also need to get an Uber to the Marin Transit Authorities pickup location near the 101 intersection with Bridgeway Ave. Also, the park entry fee at the visitors center is $15. Again, sorry about your experience.

Overnight and long layover in San Francisco. Definitely did not want to spend the day in the city. Was very happy that I could book the afternoon tour of Muir Woods and Sausalito a few hours before it began. They called me straight away to confirm and also helped me on the phone find the pick up spot which was obscure, no street number and no tour signage at the Hilton Hotel, Union Square location. Dustin was our tour guide, and he was very laid back, informative and very caring towards his tourists, as well as friendly and chatty with his guests. It was fantastic to just sit back and relax and not have anything to worry about , since I had just experienced exhausting travel delays. Great experience being with the trees, getting an ice cream in Sausalito and driving around San Francisco. Dustin was very generous with his restaurant recommendations, even offering to text a spreadsheet of them!

The actual tour and our guide Randall were fantastic. Randall was very personable and knowledgeable. We had plenty of time in Muir woods and Sausalito. Take the ferry back if you are not in a rush and head down to Fort Baker for a magnificent view of the Golden Gate Bridge, especially if it was foggy in the morning. The whole booking process was horrendous. We had two different pick up places, three different times in three different emails and five different texts. That part needs to be smoothed out.
