We do food tours in most cities we travel to and though I enjoyed parts of the history, I found the $130 price tag very steep when it came to value. The food wasn’t that great, portion sizes and sharing platters didn’t justify the cost. An oyster or two should’ve been on offering given it’s a staple in this city. I also found very little effort was put into syncing food stops. We seemed to have the desert in one of the first stops, only to revert back to savouries. I also found cocktails came quick and fast at the end almost as a distraction from one expecting a more substantial meal which never came. It fittingly ended with one small fatty meal at the end, to leave one seemingly more full from cocktails than food. Overall was fun as the alcohol takes over, but very expensive compared to other city food tours.

Did this tour yesterday. We were a party of 4 with a total of 10 people in the group. We started at the Redfish Grill on Bourbon street with Gumbo and fritters. Both absolutey devine. Then we went to a hot sauce shop which has thousands of varieties of hot sauce. I eat insanely hot food all the time, but the hot sauce up front with the waiver is no joke. Consider yourself warned. Then we went to St. Lawrence and had a frozen pimms cup which was perfect after the hot sauce. Then we went to Lea's Pralines and had a Praline and a taste of the bacon pecan brittle, which was a real highlight. We then walked past Jackson Square to Tableau for cheese plates and French 75's. Lots of food, drinks were perfect. The cheese and meats were also accompanied with bread, a fritter and popcorn. All very good. We finished up just around the corner with a Daquari, thats not the Daquori of the frozen variety. Still excellent though. Our guide Nate was fantastic, very knowledgable and fun. For those who complained about not enough food, I don't know what tour you were on, but I'm a big guy and I was stuffed and a bit buzzed by the end. Great tour.
