We upgraded to the evening food tour which included drinks. This is fun if you are over 21 - since you get to sample local alcoholic drinks. We stopped at 5 different spots - 4 for dinner items and the last for dessert. Our tour guide mentioned the curator of the tour selects a few different restaurants, so the tours and food always get changed up. So people can always come back and do another tour at a later date and try more food. We really enjoyed the food at every stop. From alligator, an New Orleans invented Italian sandwich, gumbo, oysters and more. The coolest part of the tour is we were able to sample all these different restaurants, which we wouldn't have had time to or chose without doing the tour. Our tour guide Milton was the sweetest, friendliest and knowledgeable man! He made the tour an amazing experience. With his jokes, local knowledge and great personality, I would recommend the tour just to meet him.
Tour Tip - the tour is really accommodating with food allergies. Note, if you don't like a certain food, list it under the food allergy section, so they can accommodate your preferences. One of our fellow tour members didn't mention he didn't like olives, and that was a major component in one of the dishes we were served. So if you are a guest, let the tour know so you don't waste food, especially since the restaurants are so generous.
Also, DO NOT EAT before going on the tour! We had a light lunch and our tour started at 5. We got so much food while on the tour, we were stuffed before the last meal. I would recommend just eating breakfast and waiting for the dinner tour. You won't be disappointed! Highly recommend this tour!!
