Experience the best travel stories for yourself!
You may not immediately compare Brooklyn to a small town, but the hippest borough is made up of distinct community-oriented neighborhoods that thrive and blossom because of the local mom-and-pop businesses, many of which have been here for generations. Throughout this neighborhood food tour, we celebrate the businesses by telling the stories of the people involved, by sampling some of the delicious food being sold.

Food stops were wonderful. Guide gave great insight. Tour started 15 min late due to 2 people who were late and ended 45 min late so all in 3 hours 45 min on your feet mostly outside. Would have liked some drinks paired with the food and seating at the food establishments that had seating. Would recommend doing some of the longer talks while walking or seated on park benches or in restaurants especially when a smaller group. Overall great food and insight but on other tours we’ve done the guide called ahead and a table was waiting with the food and drink from that stop when we got there.

My parents and I had an amazing experience on the Brooklyn Food, History, and Culture Tour with our tour guide, Mickey. This tour is perfect for both tourists and locals. I currently live in Manhattan and am excited to go back to the food spots we visited in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, and Cobble Hill. My favorite spots on the tour included One Girl Cookies for mini cookies, Shelsky’s for a bagel with smoked salmon, Damascus for a pita with spinach and feta (make sure to ask for the secret ingredient), and Table 87 for coal oven pizza! Mickey was a great storyteller and knew many facts about each food spot we visited, as well as the buildings, parks and brownstones we passed. We will definitely be touring with Mickey in the future!

Brian gave us a delicious and educational tour of Brooklyn neighborhoods and local shops. It’s amazing that Brooklyn has maintained such a local oriented food culture.
