While the starting point is north and means a bit of a boat ride, the trip itself can be beautiful to see the coastline. What is nice is that to be on a larger boat that is run professionally they provide all the equipment and have crew who give snacks, help you in the water, and ensure safety.
What we appreciated is that instead of a typical makeshift surfboard it's a complex array of PVC pipe that is easier to hold on to and the large area of lights attracted a lot of manta rays. We counted 8 and can't get any closer.
They help non-strong swimmers and the unexpected hot shower upon entering the boat was a treat. Just listen to all the advice — bring a towel and warm layers.
