Was really looking forward to this tour as I had booked months in advance. They emailed me two hours before the tour was meant to leave saying that it’s cancelled because they didn’t have enough people for the tour. Very unorganised and unprofessional. Would not recommend for solo or couple travellers.

Dear Joanna, we are so sorry that you had such a bad experience. Unfortunately, this booking was definitely not with our company. If the minimum capacity is not met on one of our tours, we will contact our customers the week before tour begin. This happened only one time for this type of tour since the start of the Aurora season in August 2019. This customer was contacted days before tour begin and was given the chance to switch to a different type of tour. We never just cancel, but always have an alternative plan for our customers to choose from, before sending out a full refund. We still hope that you had a great overall visit to Alaska. Amazing experience all around. We had a great tour guide, Dan. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our trip started with a pleasant ride up to the hot springs and a tour of the ice sculpture museum. The museum was interesting but not the highlight. We had a delicious dinner at the resort then took a dip in the hot springs. It was a beautiful night and surprisingly not as cold as expected. We took a hike up to the auroratorium just in case the the Northern lights showed. Much to our surprise, they did! We got incredible photos at the top of the mountain then when we came back down we saw more of them from the valley. Spectacular trip and it was everything we wanted it to be!

We took this tour in January 2020 and it was perfect! Our tour guide Lynley was friendly and told us many interesting facts about the area. They picked us up from our hotel at the center of Fairbanks and drove us to Chena. First we went to the ice museum (really small, not worth going just for that), got dinner at the restaurant (reasonably priced) and then went to the hot springs itself. The springs were great and fun, but the transition from super hot inside the water to super cold outside is not the best idea (we were sick for +2 weeks lol). Still worth it for the experience. After taking showers we went back to Fairbanks and stopped in a few places to search for the aurora and got a sight! Overall very good tour, definitely recommend!
