The Metropolitan Museum of Art houses one of the greatest art collections in the world. With over two million works of art and artifacts, ranging from ancient Greece and Egypt to Modern art from Europe, it is New York’s must-see museum.

If there's a specific area you're excited to visit, ask your guide. You can stay and explore the exhibits until closing.

With your entry ticket, you can also visit The Cloisters uptown on the same day. The Met has extended hours on Friday and Saturday evenings for a quieter, exclusive experience.

The Main Museum on 5th Ave. Is normally open: 10AM – 5PM Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 10AM – 9PM Friday and Saturday
The Met Cloisters in uptown are normally open 10AM – 5PM
The pre-orientation experience option is shown as 2 hours long. It includes the 30-minute pre-orientation experience and then self-guided time in the Museum. You can off course spend longer than 90 minutes in the Museum if you want, but this is the minimum amount of time you should allow.

Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable on the Metropolitan Museum. In two hours he was able to show us all the highlights of the museum. I definitely recommend getting a guide if it is your first time visiting the museum because it can be overwhelming. Alex's enthusiasm and love of the museum was awesome!

Manny was our tour guide and was awesome! He was nice and very knowledgeable about the museum history and the art. He told stories that added a lot to the art we were looking at.
