As others have said - Karen is an exceptional tour guide. She's fun and engaging, but so are a lot of guides, right? What really sets her apart is that this tour (and I'm guessing her others as well) was created by Karen from the ground up by conducting her own original research. This isn't just someone re-telling stories they've read in history books. Instead, it's a well-crafted examination of the people and events of the time, based upon original writings, newspaper accounts, military records and maps. Even if you've read the books about this period in history, and even if you know a bit about the history of New York, I promise you that Karen will teach you things you don't know, introduce you to fascinating characters you never heard of, and provide a very fresh perspective on Colonial New York. Highest recommendation.
