The individual tours were great, but the pick-up and transportation was a little unorganized, which is why I gave 4 stars. The Oak Alley tour was informative and transported us back in time. The live oaks were a sight to behold! The airboat swamp tour was surprisingly fun! We were lucky to see one gator during this time of the year. We had some pick-up issues from our hotel, and then there was some time wasted by the drivers trying to sort out the group. But overall, a day well spent!

We all knew that in cold weather there was a very slim chance of seeing an alligator and we were prepared for that. However, the Captain made everyone on airboat feel like a bunch of dummies. Would not take this tour again.

We have 8 different captains. Do you know the captains name or can you describe him? We get many very positive reviews on our tours, but if one of our staff did not provide a stellar tour for you, we need to discuss the matter with him. Unfortunately, the weather in New Orleans area does get cold beginning in November. That is why we do not operate a late afternoon tour until Feb 15th each year. The weather starts to moderate and begin to warm by then. The beginning of November has been unusually colder than normal. 10 to 15 degrees colder than our normal average. There is no doubt the home is beautiful, as well as the grounds, but our guide had minimal knowledge. She could not answer questions about the people she was talking about. For example: She talked so much about two particular slaves, and yet when I asked what had become of them she said "we lost track of them". Jeez, then why make them such an important part of the talk? I expected the tour to be much longer. It was only about 15 minutes. They said tours run every 10 minutes, yet unfortunately, our group had about 40 in it. Really!!!! They should have cut it back as it was so crowded trying to get in to the rooms she was talking about. However, the gift shop and restaurant were lovely. We had an amazing lunch there, and bought some nice gifts.
