This was a pleasant stop on our trip from Boston to the Cape. Especially enjoyable was the native village and its inhabitants who readily explained what Indian life was like back in the time of the pilgrims.

Thanks Phelma, whether you are traveling on or off Cape from Boston or Rhode Island, you pass by Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth. The museum is situated on Cape Cod Bay and is 15 minutes from the Sagamore Bridge.

Interesting exhibit! We all felt like we had a good time here. The Native American recreation was not the main attraction. I found it was kind of an after thought. The village is very cool however. You feel like you are in another world and are out of place. There are chickens running around, authentic buildings, and the site is perched on a bluff overlooking the bay. The really neat thing is all the 20 somethings dressed in period garb and bantering in an old English brogue. They will greet you warmly, but don’t go out of their way to interact with you. If you start a conversation with them, they will be more than happy to talk however. You can observe them chatting with each other as well. The effect is quite something.You actually feel like you just time traveled back nearly 400 years. The walk down and up to the village was longer than I expected. If you can wear closed toe shoes you’ll avoid the gravel! As we got there later in the afternoon we were kind of bummed it was closing at 5 PM. The gift shops were very well appointed and the museum displays were excellent. It’s a definite must go if you’re in the Plymouth area!

We have received several comments about having extended hours in the summer and next year the main campus Plimoth Plantation will be open until 6 pm and Mayflower until 7 pm in July and August.

Took our grandkids. They really enjoyed the Plantation, didn't make it over to the Grist Mill and the Mayflower II still isn't in as it is being restored. We were there 2 years ago and still didn't get to see the Mayflower.
