We came into Juneau on the Norwegian Bliss on 7/2/19 and although the ticket voucher clearly said 'dock to dock' transportation would be provided, we had to walk pretty far, uphill to finally reach our green 'Skagway Tours' sign. Some members of our group could not make this walk. We were late to get on Skagway Tours transport and had to wait in a long line. We were concerned by the quantity of people waiting for transport but their crew said 'no one would be standing on their buses'. This was not the case either. The bus driver let anyone on, even if they hadn't first gone to the crew to have their tickets scanned and wait in that long, long like. Then, once moving, with MANY standing, the bus driver hit his brakes so hard that some of the people standing actually fell. One of the people in our group got hurt when someone fell onto her and hit her in the head with a metal bottle. It was a free-for-all. After such a long wait for transport, we were late to the Mendenhall Glacier Tour part and we did not have time to walk down to the glacier.
The second part of our tour, the Whale Watching part was INCREDIBLE. I will say that if we didn't have all of the issues with the 'dock-to-dock' failure and the dangerous transport to the glacier, I would have rated this excursion 5 stars. I have waited my whole life to see whales and this part of our trip didn't disappoint. Our crew were Josh, Lena and Kris and they were EXCELLENT. We saw Killer Whales and Humpbacks.
