Everyone always wants to jump on and ride fast when they’re with horses, and that’s exactly what our advanced ride is for. Experienced riders can kick up the energy a little and have a horseback adventure in a truly spectacular natural setting—Oahu’s North Shore. Guided by one of our wranglers, you’ll strike out onto technical trails and across open pastures, passing grazing cows who just might sneak a peek to see your skills!

This ride involves trotting and cantering, and it’s important that all participants have previous riding experience. Wranglers will assess riding skills and will base the pace of the ride on the skill level of the least experienced rider in the group. Our wranglers are well-trained and ready for anything, so as long as you have the horse skills needed, you’ll have a fun and safe experience.

Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
Minimum age is 12 years
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. 220lb/100kg weight limit
Long pants and covered shoes are recommended; bring a light jacket if the weather is cold
We ride rain or shine. If canceled due to unsafe weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund

I love this ranch! I booked to take the Private Advanced Trail Ride with my daughter for her birthday the beginning of September, but due to more Hawaii Covid-19 restrictions the reservation had to be changed from her birthday to sometime in the future. I asked if we could change plans and come that very day, before the new regulations started, and Gunstock was able to accommodate us! They were a pleasure to deal with and the ranch is amazing! My daughter and I had a fantastic ride on beautiful, well cared for horses through the ranches stunning property- we even got to ride through the cattle dozing off in the shade. McKenzie was our guide and she took the time to stop along the trail to tell us about the fruiting trees and have us try a few and was in all ways lovely. We had a sweet border collie running along with our horses and it really felt like riding on a friend's property- but with a much better view:) I would not hesitate to go back and hope we get the opportunity to as soon as Hawaii goes back to something closer to normal. Gunstock made my daughter's birthday wish come true and is a bright big sunny spot in the middle of a lot of Covid-19 darkness.

One of the highlights of our first trip to Hawaiii. Camilla, our guide, was so kind and knowledgeable, and our horses were fantastic. The ranch is beautiful, and the views everywhere took our breath away. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Aloha, I recently moved to Oahu, and my sister came to visit. We grew up with horses and always like to take a ride when we can. I really like that Gunstock was very personable and not as crowded as other adventures on Oahu. The horses were well cared for. I rode Skeeter and my sister rode Joy. The farm is very well kept along with other farm life that you can interact with. Out wrangler was Killian. She was a ton of fun and made sure we had a wonderful experience. The views we saw were amazing!! We did the advanced trail ride so were able to canter. I will definately be taking more visitors there!
