Our family had an incredible day with Alec. He picked us up at 7am, returning us around 3. We enjoyed insane views of hidden waterfalls, hiked back to the very back of a bamboo forest, and had snacks and smoothies throughout the day! Alec was great photog help as well, capturing our family on an amazing day in a Maui. I would highly recommend him and his tour!

I choose this tour over other Road to Hana tours because the trip in an air conditioned bus or van was not appealing. The soft top jeep was perfect for our private excursion. Alec was accommodating and tailored the tour to what we were interested in seeing. He showed us sites we would have never found without his experience and knowledge of the jungle. We trekked thru a bamboo forest, gazed at several waterfalls, marveled at the ocean sites and enjoyed banana bread and a pineapple treat along the way. At the end of the tour, Alec showed us a beach that seemingly had hundreds of turtles sunbathing on the beach, which was a nice closing to our day's journey. Alec and his tour were amazing!

Alec was very polite and happy to tour us around. He was easy to talk to but also wasn't pushy to make us talk every second. He is certainly a little eccentric but that made the trip all the more engaging for us. Alec probably hit around a dozen+ stops across the way, most of the stops being a little more off the beaten path. He asked us how comfortable we were with exploring (navigating slippy paths, getting in water, etc.) and did well to match what we were looking to engage with (a little bit but not overly adventurous). He gave us a ton of photographs/videos that we wouldn't have been able to take without him, nor in a place we would have been able to find without him. Looking at past negative reviews, it seems like people who just expected everything to be detailed out for them were ultimately disappointed. Alec is very easy to talk to and was more than willing to work with us on anything we wanted to do. There were certainly moments in the trip where we just wanted to be led, and Alec did well at filling in those gaps, but I could see someone getting frustrated at a lack of a specified itinerary, although we certainly were more than happy to go with the flow on the trip.
