Travelling between San Fransisco and Yosemite we had time to kill in our itinerary so decided to book a Sacramento Historic River Cruise via the Tripadvisor web page. Booking process was easy and the cost for 2 adults was £32.50. The Location of the departure point is L Street with Front Street. You have to call the company 24 hours in advance to confirm your booking. The advise that you to be there 30 minutes prior to departure time which for us was 12 noon. This was our first ever visit to Sacramento and whilst our Sat Nav places us in the correct area, we went around the block a few times to find parking. The cruise itself was OK, we sat on the upper, covered but open top deck so we had good views of the river. There is a bar on board which sells drinks and snacks, which weren’t overly expensive. The Captain narrated the tour and in all honesty it was extremely difficult to hear his commentary so I cannot even tell you if what he said was interesting. Basically the sound system is not that good. Whilst pleasant, the one hour trip, obviously half an hour up the river and the same back, was quite boring in parts. All I can say is it was a nice escape away from driving for an hour.
