The guide was very knowledgeable, and had a lot of interesting trivia about the geography, plant life, and native Americans. Note the tours are for up to 7 people, so unless you are in a large group there will be others. We had fun meeting the other couples. Water and snacks are provided. The jeeps are covered but there is some walking and you will be in the sun so wear sunscreen. Also there is a lot of dust. Highly recommended. Ask for the driver Dan.

There is no better way to see and learn about the desert, history of Indio and the San Andreas Fault line than to sign up on this tour and you must ask for Lane...she is so informative and such a sweetheart...we will be doing this again!!!!!

We had Russ as our guide. As on of the original San Andreas Fault guides, he was able to keep us away from other groups and spend time focusing on the geological uniqueness of our journey. He educated us on the formations we saw on our short hikes through a variety of canyons as well as the desert flora that provided sustenance and medicine to the early natives of the valley. We learned of the aquifer under the valley floor and how the agriculture survives in what would otherwise be a desert. If you don’t take the time for this tour you are missing a great educational experience. If you can get Russ, so much the better. Bring your camera.
