Our trips depart from Mission Bay, which requires only a short 10 minute journey access to the open ocean where whales and dolphins can be seen! The search for whales and other animals begins as soon as you depart the dock and our marine biologists are on the microphone explaining exactly what to expect and what you are seeing from the get go!
Typically our trips are 2.5-3 hours in length, but time can vary based on seasons and locations of sightings.

This was not just another three hour cruise and it doesn't matter we didn't spot any whales but out in the middle of the tour we were surrounded by hundreds of dolphins in several pods. They rode the bow waves as the Naturalist on board explained everything about our coast and the environment. The staff was professional, the Cafe was great and will definitely go again.

We went on a cloudy day in May. The trip was fine. Rough sea. Windy day. A lot got seasick around me. We saw a lot of birds and dolphins, which was the most exciting part of the trip. The whale? Not really. The whale was super far away; we caught a glimpse of it only once or twice. Because of the distance, all we could see was like a tiny dot. I understand all the difficulty and impossibility to come close to the whales, and I have high opinion of the staff's expertise and knowledge. All I'm saying is do not expect too much of the whale; it's very far away and hard to see; just prepare yourself about this before your trip. I hope to get more out of the three-hour experience. You don't want to sit in the cold and face the wind on a rough sea for three hours, not seeing much. Yet the compensation for this is friendly and helpful staff.

We are sorry that you didn't get to see more whales as you had hoped for. Days like this do unfortunately happen, though it is not common and we always try to make your trip as enjoyable as possible. You can see some really incredible sightings out there so we invite you to join us again some time in hope of a better trip!

We went out on a gray day, but had a terrific time. They know where to go to find the Dolphins and whales. We were able to see some humpback back whales, lots of dolphins. The crew was very friendly, informative and and knowledgeable. It was a great experience, I would recommend this trip to anyone.
