Cruisin' The Castro with Kathy made our visit to San Francisco extra special. What a wonderful and insightful experience. This was one tour that we could not miss out on, this was our MUST experience for our visit to San Francisco. So much so, we changed our entire 4 days around so that we could fit this tour in. It did not disappoint and this was the highlight to our trip. We were very lucky to only have a total of 3 people on our tour which made the tour such a personal experience. Kathy is passionate about her tour and the community she represents. Kathy explains in great detail How the Castro became the Castro, the Summer of Love, Harvey Milk, the AIDS epidemic and Civil rights - past and present and much much more. Visiting the Pink Triangle Memorial Park was quite special along with a visit to The Human Rights Campaign Action Centre, which was previously Harvey Milks camera shop. One of the most emotional parts of the tour was viewing one of the panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, which Kathy took time to explain the history behind the NAMES Project Foundation. It was extremely moving stood in front of the panel knowing how personal it was and how much love and attention had gone into making each panel. Lena: If your reading this, thank you for the pleasure of your company on the tour. It was great to meet you. When we return to San Francisco, Kathy will be the first person we make contact with to book another tour. I cannot recommend this tour or Kathy any more highly. A fantastic must do experience. 10 out of 10! Thank you.

We did the tour today and had such a great time with Kathy. She was welcoming, insightful and just really a pleasure to learn from. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Castro!

This tour is quite an education in understanding how that special area of San Francisco became such a role model in the pursue of rights. Whether you are a foreign visitor or an American, it is important to hear what Kathy or any other expert guide from this company will share with you. It was truly a highlight.
