On our Secret Food Tour: San Francisco, the Mission District, you'll see how immigrants shaped the neighborhood by creating brilliant artwork, beautiful architecture and sharing their fantastic food! Originally home to Irish, German, and Italian immigrants, it is now the epicenter of San Francisco's Latino culture.

The Mission District is full of vibrant murals that offer a visual history lesson featuring themes ranging from cultural heritage to social-political statements. We will take a stroll through the neighborhood to get an up-close experience.

Our tours are more than just the food. Our local guides connect the dots between history, culture, and cuisine to provide you with a deep understanding of the Mission District's thriving culinary scene!

I'm no newbie when it comes to food tours, especially Secret Food Tours. We've done the one in Paris and will be doing them in Rome and Madrid very soon. I was so excited to hear that the company had made its way to the US. I always recommend this company because there is no better way to learn about a city or a culture than through food, and Charlotte held no exception to this. We've been to San Francisco before but never to the mission district and she was able to give us so much information about the area and the art culture and delicious treats along the way. She even took photos for us every step of the way as we enjoyed tasty treats. One of the reasons I like this company is that in comparison to others, you won't leave hungry(although you might want to not listen to your stomach and go for me) and the wine is always an excellent touch. By the end I felt like we just had an amazing experience with an old friend, not just a good tour guide. If you are looking to tour a piece of the city, step away from the Golden Gate Bridge and get some tasty food with excellent company you will certainly not be disappointed. Side Note: the area is super accessible via public transit, through BART or Muni.

Secret food tours was the perfect way to explore the Mission District like a local! Our guide Charlotte was so wonderful and really knew her stuff. Both the amazing food and the sights allowed us to get a great feel for the multicultural spirit of the neighborhood. We highly recommend this tour! :)

My friend and I were visiting San Fran from Australia and decided to do a food tour as we love food. It was a rainy day and we were both feeling a bit run down- but we loved our food tour with Charlotte! We were lucky enough to have a private tour too. Everything we ate and drank was delish and there was a good variety of cuisines. Loved the architecture and street art in this district. And thought there was a perfect ratio of food, walking and history. Charlotte is very easy to get along with and took some sneaky candid photos of us which was lovely.
