Julie was terrific! We had a pleasant weather day with not too much humidity. We visited six establishments and tasted cottage pie, shrimp and grits, Tupelo honey, alligator sliders and sausage rolls. It was an easy walk and you can see some great restaurants and the city market if you want to return on your own time. I would have just wanted a bit more southern cooking but it was a nice three-hour tour.

Our guide was awesome. Very knowledgeable about the area and great personality. We were disappointed in the food. We have been on many food tours in other cities and like how it is an opportunity to get to know the culinary side of a city. The food types were not the problem it was the presentations and quality. Would rather pay more and have better quality food in the future.

Thank you for your feedback. And thank you for comparing your experience with those food tour experiences you had pre-pandemic-and-restaurant industry-collapse; we feel blessed that we are able to do food tours at all (as most of the world is still struggling to get going on this front), but to be compared to pre-pandemic food tour experiences is a badge of honor of sorts. Thanks again.

Our hostess, Victoria, was very knowledgeable and entertaining with tid-bits of history thrown in with the food stops. Our first stop (which turned out to be our favorite) was 22 Square who served up a delicious shrimp and grits! One of my favorite Southern dishes and this was the best I have ever had! Next we walked about around down town to Byrd's for some free samples of sweet and savory cookies. Our next stop was a speakeasy where we enjoyed Chatham Artillery Punch and a pimento sandwich, boiled peanuts, pickled veggies and a deviled egg. There was ample time here to look around the prohibition displays, too. Now off to The Little Crown, the smallest English Pub in GA, for a meat pie (and tap beer, if desired). Yum! Don't forget to buy yourself a really authentic shortbread. Off to the next stop, Molly MacPherson's for a modern take on Sheppard's pie. We strolled through Telfair Square and had a brief history lesson, before heading to B&D Burgers for a very yummy alligator patty on a soft potato roll! We finished with a honey tasting at the Savannah Bee Company--be sure to pick up some Tupelo Honey while you are there. Overall it was a great experience and fun way to spend 3 hours learning about this beautiful city and its great food traditions.
