We thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour with Martin. He’s lived in town for a long time, and knows the MGGE story inside and out, and from a local’s perspective. He is a wellspring of all kinds of Savannah history and information. The group size was small, so it was easy to wrangle everyone across busy streets and I never felt like we were waiting for stragglers or anything like that. You can tell that Martin loves his town and enjoys sharing his in-depth knowledge with others.

Our tour guide knew this book and movie! Though not a Savannah native, he was married to one. Martin showed us key places in the book as well as some more out of the way, such as where John Berandt met Joe. The walk was placed a bit slow for me, but that was likely due to the rain. It was an altogether satisfying experience.

This was a wonderful and insightful walking tour. You will gain a great insight about the book...movie...and actual people who were a part of one the most fascinating stories to come out of the south.
