Our tour guide, Jason, was great. He had so much information to share. It was a good way to get to see things on the city skyline/shoreline, and taught a bit about the boats on their pier (container boats, tugboats etc).

Beautiful day beckoned us to take a Harbor Cruise. It was crowded and you had to stand on a very long line and snake your way to get onboard, climb steps on several levels and try to find 2 seats together. The cruise was narrated very well by a clear spoken individual providing information about various points of interest. Too bad there were so many rude people talking or kids being fussy and loud that you couldn't hear much of the narration. The tour was under 1 hour and then more lines trying to get off the boat. We wanted a bottle of water and went back down steps to the snack bar and the line was so long that I would have missed most of the cruise, so I abandoned the idea of water so as not to miss the tour.

Let's begin by saying it is difficult to find this place if you are driving. From road construction to poor signage, we almost gave up! We walked up and bought tickets for the cruise 35 minutes ahead. You can take on drinks and food from other places (not alcohol). They have umbrellas available (no cost) if you want to get a little shade from the sun. We sat inside throughout as the sun was radiant during our tour. I stepped out to take pictures as I desired with ease. You will see the harbor and hear about the sights from a local...kinda. Our tour guide was Dailyn. If she said the words "and what not" once, she said it a million times in our hour of listening to her vague descriptions. When you come to a new place and take a tour, you expect the guide to be knowledgeable and articulate. She may know quite a bit, but her explanations were unclear, somewhat politically cynical and what not. The tour lasted an hour, taking you to see businesses, historic places, the shipping port and what not. I was interested to hear about the cargo ships and Dailyn did a nice job explaining the machinery and work in loading and unloading these vessels. We even saw containers being unloaded. But when it came to the dry docks, the Coast Guard vessels and other boats, her explanations were subpar and what not. I prefer a personalized tour usually, but Dailyn's style was immature and came across as not that informed. We were disappointed. We did get a great tip for dinner after our cruise....Elliott's Oyster House.
