If you arrive 30 minutes early to wait in line, you can be near enough the front of the line up to possibly get a decent seat on the top deck. We went around the harbor north first (counterclockwise). Assuming they travel the same route each time, you will want to sit on the right hand side of the boat for the best view. The tour was straight forward. They told informative stories about the history of the waterfront. It was a decent way to spend an hour. But don't fool yourself - you just sitting on a boat listening to a guy tell you some history. Its a decent tour, but not an exciting adventure.

If we hadn't of gotten the Seattle City Pass, I doubt we would have done this wonderful Harbor Crusie. I highly recommend it for people visiting Seattle - especially 1st time visitors like my family. We were able to book easily, in person with our City Pass our 1st day in Seattle. The cruise itself gives you great views of the City and the tour guides give you interesting facts, history, and tidbits. We had a great crew. The only drawback (if you can call it that) was that when we got our tickets we were told where to line up. We came back and were the 2nd people in line where we were told the line up would be. Some guy came out and changed the lineup and people who were after us, rushed and cut in front of the people who were waiting there 1st. Kind of frustrating.

The hour long cruise exceeded my expectations. It provided a great way to view the Seattle skyline from Elliott Bay. The surrounding scenery is also beautiful, with views of Puget Sound and Mt. Rainier. The commentary was informative and held our family's attention for the hour long journey. On the Saturday we visited, we were able to get tickets for the next sailing. We arrived a few minutes before hand and found the crowds to me reasonable.
