Hawaii Hoverboarding Tours
Your 2-hour 15-minute hoverboarding adventure starts when you make your way to the front of the Honolulu Zoo in Waikiki and meet your local guide. After safety instructions and some practice, you’ll be off to explore the area with your small group. Put on your wireless one-ear audio receiver to hear from your guide about Hawaii's nature, history, and listen to nostalgic Hawaiian music as you hover from place to place. Starting in beautiful Kapiolani Park, you'll first learn to recognize some of the most popular flowering island trees. While taking in the impressive beach views, we learn why Oahu is known as the ‘birthplace of surfing’ from ancient Hawaiian to modern surfing. Listen to wonderful examples of uniquely Hawaiian instruments such as the slack key guitar and ukulele as we explore the historic bandstand, then smile for a photo at Diamond Heads most photogenic location. Hear about the island's volcanic birth, and learn how the fire Goddess Pele created it all! Stop near a little known prior human sacrificial temple location and learn about Hawaii's ancient Gods, Kings, Queens, and priestly Kahuna. Stop to look for Hawaii’s state fish the distinct Humuhumunukunukuapaa, and find out where the best spot to see giant 300-pound sea turtles is! Hover to the Waikiki War Memorial and Natatorium, then glide over the sand along a palm tree-lined pathway to a local favorite beach Kaimana. Take in the charming historic cottages and multi-million dollar mansions in the Gold Coast while learning about the architecture and real estate development of Hawaii. You'll next climb up the road to Diamond Head lookout and marvel at the panoramic ocean vistas, look for neighbor islands and whales in winter months, and point out hidden bunkers from Diamond Head's military history. Heading back we stop to sample some local snacks, see where one of the richest men in Hawaii in the 50's and 60's once lived, listen to nostalgic tiki pop culture comedy songs, and learn about Hawaii's first and last king's. Try to guess Hawaii filmed movies and TV shows from their soundtracks and finally, we glide with oceanfront views of Waikiki along beautiful Queens beach listening to famous Hawaiian music.

This is a beautiful 2 hour tour of riding this self balancing Hoover board. It was my first time and it was very easy to navigate. The Tour operator was fabulous and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in OAhu.

We had a great time hover boarding with Steve on the evening Sunset Waikiki tour. From the moment you meet Steve you'll know this is a guy who isn't getting rich doing this - he's doing it because he loves it. That makes for an excellent guide and a great time. Before I get into reviewing the tour, let me address anyone who's nervous or apprehensive about riding the segways since they haven't done it before. First, they are REALLY easy to learn and control. They are self-balancing and you get used to them quickly. Second, Steve started us out in a large open field and gives you very clear step-by-step instructions on how to operate the hoverboards. Then one-by-one he has you get on and use it with him right there to help you, making sure you are very comfortable before you ever leave on the tour. And lastly, he knows that many people who do the tour are first timers so he's not taking you on an extreme route with narrow drop offs. The route is lots of fun but simple and easy to maneuver. Now on to the tour... We had a blast! Steve is a great guy - laid back and enjoying what he's doing so he makes the tour a lot of fun. You have earpieces so he can communicate with you while riding. Sometimes he'll play pre-recorded bits of info about the places your seeing and other times he explain stuff himself. It's the right mix of each and made tour much more informative than I thought it would be. We saw a lot of historical and natural landmarks as well as some really amazing lookouts and views with great photo opportunities. Speaking of photos, Steve takes photos with his camera and then after the tour you get a link to download all those pics...for FREE! Not technically free since you pay for the tour, but we've all done those ones where they take pics then use them as an upsale at the end. Not Steve. See, told you he was a good guy. Any pics I'm posting that show us on the hoverboards are ones he took and shared. Also you're provided one ice cold coconut water and some snacks along the way just to hold you over if you need it. They were all prepackaged into separate containers and were a very nice touch. We really did have a fun time on the Segway tour. It was a nice way to spend the evening and a good value for the cost with excellent information and photo ops. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Oahu!

We had a wonderful time, our guide, Steve, made sure we knew how to ride and were comfortable before the tour began. Steve made our trip very memorable and enjoyable. He gave us a cool history lesson about the island along the way. I hope to come back to the island and would take another tour with Steve.
